A spec lift uses a hydraulic boom and wheel lift to raise the front or rear axle of the casualty vehicle, allowing it to be towed with two wheels on the road. An underlift uses a cradle fitted under the axle to carry the vehicle fully suspended. Integrated underlift-spec lift units can perform both functions, making them more versatile for mixed recovery work.
We source recovery vehicles from 3.5 tonnes through to 32 tonnes GVW, covering light car and van recovery up to heavy goods and specialist vehicle recovery. The right GVW is determined by the casualty weights and payload requirements of your operation.
Yes. Flatbed recovery transporters are available for full vehicle transport where towing is not suitable, including low ground clearance vehicles, prestige cars, multi-vehicle loads and damaged vehicles requiring full platform transport.
Yes. All recovery vehicles can be specified with Chapter 8 compliant chevron rear markings and appropriate amber warning lighting to meet Highways England requirements for vehicles working on or near live carriageways.
Lead times typically range from 8 to 16 weeks depending on the specification, body type and converter availability. For urgent requirements, ready-converted stock vehicles may be available with shorter lead times. We will confirm realistic timelines at enquiry stage.
