What is Chapter 8 compliance and why does it matter?
Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual sets the legal standards for signing, lighting and guarding of road works in the UK. Vehicles used in traffic management operations must carry the correct chevron markings, lighting and safety equipment as specified by Chapter 8. Non-compliant vehicles put workers and road users at risk and can result in enforcement action.
How long does a traffic management vehicle build take?
Lead times typically run from 6 to 16 weeks depending on specification, base vehicle availability and converter capacity. For urgent requirements, pre-built or lightly modified units may be available from stock with shorter lead times. Contact us to discuss your timeline.
Can vehicles be specified to our exact scheme requirements?

What base vehicle options are available?
We source from all major UK manufacturers including Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Iveco, MAN, Peugeot and Vauxhall. Options range from 3.5 tonne panel vans suitable for urban traffic management through to 7.5 tonne trucks for larger highway schemes and attenuator mounting.

Yes. Vanadam coordinates delivery to any location in the UK. All compliance documentation, handover checks and operator familiarisation are completed before vehicles enter live service.
